SUMMARY:Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include: anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders. Prior to live portion\, there will be a two-hour self-paced introduction that needs to be completed. There are six CEUs available with this training. Presented by Seasons Center for Behavioral Health.

SUMMARY:Stigma Associated with Substance Use Disorders Training
DESCRIPTION:Addiction related stigma affects people in different ways. As a result\, there is a wealth of ways in which people understand\, perceive\, and define stigma and the effects of stigma on people with a substance use disorder. The goals of this training include: 1) Recognize the three types of stigma associated with people that have a substance use disorder (SUD); 2) Identify common perceptions\, beliefs\, and behaviors that promote or constitute stigma; 3) Describe the problems and consequences caused by stigma; 4) Identify strategies for stigma change.
