Addiction related stigma affects people in different ways. As a result, there is a wealth of ways in which people understand, perceive, and define stigma.

Seasons Center and the Family Support Center are hosing FREE Virtual Training – I’ve Adopted or Am Fostering, Now What? This training will be held virtually Monday, November 27th from 5:30-7:30 PM. This training is applicable for both professionals working with foster/adoptive/kinship children and families as well as families themselves.

This training will provide an increased understanding of the challenges faced by families where children are experiencing out-of-home care and provide strategies to effectively support families where children are experiencing out-of-home care. This training is applicable for both professionals working with foster/adoptive/kinship children and families as well as families themselves!

This training will focus on common legal questions for foster, adoptive, and kinship populations. It will cover topics such as subsidized vs unsubsidized adoption, guardianship, conservatorship, and funding options for adoption/guardianship. It will be facilitated in partnership with attorney Phil De Koster of De Koster & De Koster Law Firm alongside Gina Touney and others of Iowa HHS. This training is applicable for both professionals working with foster/adoptive/kinship children and families as well as families themselves.
