SUMMARY:Family ECHO: Autism
DESCRIPTION:Family ECHO: Autism is a virtual learning program for families and caregivers raising children with autism. The sessions are designed to shift medical and behavioral information from the clinic into the hands of parents and caregivers so they can learn to better support and care for their autistic children. Session topics have been chosen based on input from participants. Family ECHO: Autism connects families with an interdisciplinary panel of experts from the Autism Care Network. The series is designed to increase autism knowledge\, build leadership skills for managing interdisciplinary care teams\, and provide strategies that can be applied by families and their teams. A list of session topics is found on the event website.  \nEligible participants will register to participate in a 75-minute Zoom session. Each session will include:\n• Presentation from subject experts on critical topics and best practices related to autism\n• An interactive discussion about a clinical case study\n• A Q&A with the presenter and an opportunity to provide feedback\n• Resources relevant to the session \nTo be eligible to participate in a Family ECHO session\, you must fall into one of these groups:\n• A family member of a child or young adult with autism\n• Professional working in the field of autism\n• Both a family member and a professional working in the field of autism

DESCRIPTION:Educational Training available to healthcare providers. At the end of this training\, participants will be able to: 1) Explain the difference between low and high-risk choices; 2) Explain the difference between mental and physical impairment; 3) Explain the behaviors and characteristics of the path to addiction; 4) Explain the information covered and how it can be applied to their work or clinical setting. Registration is required and closed after April 8. No fee to attend. 3.5 Nursing contact hours offered/3.5 EMS contact hours offered (must attend entire program to receive CE credit).
